After a long,
eventful roadtrip, Ellie arrives at her new forever-home in
Roscommon, Michigan.

Dear Gramma,
I went to
see Lisa's dog trainer, Colleen Osmond today. She was extremely
pleased with me and said that I was a great dog with lots of
potential. She found me to be good natured, well mannered, and
willing to please. She thinks that I can be trained for Agility
or SAR. I can search out a cat anytime. Lisa could start a cat
recovery business with me. Colleen took me from Lisa and I was
happy and gave her kisses. She put me thru my paces in basic
obedience and I passed with flying colors. Merlin and I start
advanced obedience at the end of March. On April 5th Colleen
will accompany Lisa, Merlin and I to the Agility competition
and ask to use their equipment to give me a test run and see
if I like it. If so she is going to set up Agility classes here.
I am a star in the making. Merlin is to laid back for agility...he
is more of the therapy dog type. He will just watch.
I went to
the barn last night and there were giant animals out there.
I didn't like the tractor, it is noisy and smells funny. I tried
to protect Lisa from the big animals but they wouldn't scare
easily and to top that she made me hush and petted them. Lisa
needs her computer to get back to work now so I'll goodby.
Wiggles and Slurps,
Love,

I haven't
updated as much as I should on Merlin & Ellie. Ellie came
to me as an unexpected blessing. She was just a year when I
drove half way to Texas and met Shari in Missouri. She has
lived with us for almost 3 months now.
Ellie is one
of the smartest dogs that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
This girl can almost read your mind. Training is hampered only
by her playfulness and not in a bad way. Ellie is extremely
affectionate, playful and willing to please. She can out think
Merlin and our Lab, Lou anyday. I believe part of that is that
they are so mellow, that they just don't care.
I can't thank
Shari enough for these two wonderful dogs and for being the
kind of breeder that she is. It is a shame that there are other
people out there calling themselves breeders who don't have
half the commitment, after the money changes hands, that Shari
does.
