Purple
girl arrived at the airport in Minneapolis at approximately 10:10am
today. She was greeted at the gate (actually the baggage claim
area) by me. After the plane ride, she seemed a bit distraught,
understandably so. But, after a bit of soothing talk and and a
little scratching behind the ears, Purple stopped fretting. Next,
was the trip to the car. After lugging her half way across the
terminal and I began to wonder why I wanted one of the largest
females in the litter! Finally we made it to the car and I offered
her some food and water. She took a little drink and then began
to explore our little portion of the airport parking ramp. Unfortunately,
I had to cut her search off early - I still needed to get back
to work and we still had at least three stops to make.
The first stop was at a nearby lake and park
where Purple took a potty break and stretched her legs a bit.
The second stop was at Tina's work so Tina could say "hi"
to the new addition to the family. The third and final stop was
at Grandma's (my mom's house) where my son A.J. and our other
dog Spanky were waiting. My son is a very enthusiastic two-year-old.
Perhaps a bit too enthusiastic as he frightened Purple a bit as
he rushed to greet her. But, after more sooting words and scratching
behind the ears, she settled down again and met A.J., Spanky,
Grandma, and Chaps and Ellie Mae (Grandma's two dogs). Purple
spent the rest of the day at Grandma's house and Tina picked the
three kids up at around 6:00 tonight.
For most of the evening, Purple has been sleeping.
She really had quite a long day! As I write this, she is crashed
under the kitchen table. I was able to get a couple photos today
and I'll take more tomorrow. Tomorrow evening I'll make a file
and fill it with a bunch of photos. Oh, and Shari thanks again
for all your hard work raising this puppy and getting her to us
safely! What a wonderful puppy!
